JW & FRIENDS RESTAURANT AND DRIVER'S LOUNGE
JW & Friends is the culmination of the entrepreneurial vision of Jerry Stone (J) and Wayne Counts(W). These two otherwise successful businessmen had long dreamed of establishing a local business that would satisfy the need of the community. After considering many options they decided that Springfield deserved a venue for fine dining without having to venture into the city. They combined their financial resources and talents, successfully enlisted other investors (Friends) who endorsed the plan, and embarked on the task of turning their vision into a reality.
Jerry tragically lost a tough battle to cancer before the restaurant was completed, but his wife Karen was ready to step in and take over the reigns. You can find accents of red through out the establishment, from the menus to the lights above the bar, in tribute of his memory and inspiration.
Driver's Lounge got its name in recognition of (1) the guys behind the steering wheels of NASCAR race cars, and (2) the longest club in a golfers bag. During the fall football season, it provides a venue for watching your favorite team. Around the bar you can find accents and memorabilia cheering on our own Washington Redskins and Nationals!!
